A Philippine honeymoon works best with two islands, private transfers and enough time to do nothing at all. The country has some of the most beautiful water in Asia, villas that sit directly on it, and boatmen who know how to find an empty beach. What it does not forgive is an over-packed itinerary.
The best months
January to April is the most reliable window for beach days, calm seas and blue skies on the western islands. May is hot and usually calm. From June to October, look east and south (Siargao, Bohol, Camiguin), because Palawan and Boracay sit in the path of the southwest monsoon.
Where to go
- El Nido and northern Palawan: the classic. Limestone islands, lagoons and island resorts where your room looks straight onto the sea.
- Coron: wilder, with freshwater lakes and the best snorkelling over coral gardens and wrecks.
- Boracay: easy, sociable and beautiful at sunset. Good for couples who want restaurants and a bit of life.
- Siargao: relaxed and romantic in a barefoot way, with surf, palm forest and island picnics.
- Bohol and Panglao: calm beaches, river trips and comfortable resorts. A gentle second stop.
- Private island resorts: the Philippines has a handful of very exclusive island resorts in Palawan. They are expensive and worth it if seclusion is what you want most.
Our honeymoon shape
Ten to fourteen nights, two islands. Start with drama (El Nido or Coron), finish with stillness (a villa in Palawan, Bohol, Siquijor or Siargao). Every transfer private. No island arrival after dark. One spare day at the end before your international flight.
The moments worth planning
- A private boat that leaves before the shared tours, so the lagoons are yours.
- A sandbar lunch or a dinner on the beach, set up for two.
- A couples' massage the day after the long-haul flight.
- Sunset from the water, on a paraw sailboat in Boracay or a bangka in El Nido.
What to avoid
Midday at the most famous lagoons in high season. Resorts chosen only from photos. Itineraries with four islands in ten days. Tight connections in Manila. Tell us how you like to travel and we will plan the honeymoon around it, including every surprise you want to keep secret.
