Luxury Travel in the Philippines

Private islands, villas, charter flights and boats: what luxury looks like in the Philippines, and where it is worth the money.

Updated October 1, 2026

Luxury in the Philippines is not mainly about marble lobbies. It is about space and privacy: a private island with a handful of villas, a boat that takes you where the shared tours do not, a transfer that saves you half a day. Spend in the right places and the country delivers some of the most exclusive beach experiences in Asia.

Where luxury is worth it

  • Private island resorts in Palawan: a few resorts own or share an entire island, with villas on the sand or over the water and very few guests. This is where the money buys the most.
  • Villas with staff: in El Nido, Siargao and Boracay, private villas with a cook and a housekeeper suit families and groups.
  • Boracay's best resorts: polished, with private beach areas away from the busy main strip.
  • Spa resorts in Bohol, Cebu and Tagaytay: good for a slower, restorative stop.

Time is the real luxury

Most of the effort in a Philippine trip is getting between islands. Paying for better connections changes the whole experience.

  • Private transfers on arrival and between every stop.
  • Direct flights to small airports such as El Nido instead of long road journeys.
  • Private charter flights, seaplanes and helicopter transfers on some routes, subject to availability, weather and permits. Ask us what is possible for your dates.
  • Yachts and private boats for island-hopping, sunset cruises or multi-day sailing around Palawan.

Experiences we like

A private boat to the lagoons at 7am. Lunch on a sandbar. A chef cooking your catch on the beach. A dive guide for just the two of you. A night on a remote island with no one else there. These are the moments that make the price worthwhile.

Where not to overspend

Manila hotels are comfortable at every level, but one night is usually enough. Big-name brands are not always the best choice on small islands, where a small, well-run resort often beats a large one. And in the wet season, a top-tier room cannot change the weather, so time your trip well.

How we work

We look for privacy, service and location, not just stars, and we tell you honestly when a cheaper option is the better one. Every Signature trip includes private transfers, hand-picked hotels and travel insurance with €2,000 cancellation cover.
