10 DAYS

Banaue • Sagada • Vigan

Luzon Adventure

Manila's old town and food, the rice terraces of Banaue and Batad, Sagada's caves, then the Spanish colonial streets of Vigan. The Philippines' history and mountains in ten days.

Use this journey as inspiration. Change the islands, hotels, pace, activities or number of nights.

A trip for people who want more than beaches. It starts in Manila with the walls of Intramuros and a food walk through Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world. Then it heads north into the Cordillera: the rice terraces of Banaue and Batad, and the caves and pine forests of Sagada.

From Sagada the road winds down to the coast and Vigan, a UNESCO-listed town of cobbled streets, horse-drawn calesas and Spanish colonial houses, with its own food traditions. You fly back to Manila from nearby Laoag. It pairs perfectly with a few beach days afterwards: ask us to add Boracay, Bohol or El Nido.

Questions travellers ask

1. Can I add a beach at the end?

Yes, and most people do. Boracay, Bohol or El Nido are all an easy flight from Manila.

2. Is it cold in the mountains?

Sagada and Banaue are cool, especially at night and early morning from December to February. Bring a warm layer.
