Bohol • Camiguin

Bohol and Camiguin

Bohol's hills and beaches, then a ferry to Camiguin, a small volcanic island of waterfalls, hot springs and a white sandbar. Local life and very few tourists.

Use this journey as inspiration. Change the islands, hotels, pace, activities or number of nights.

Camiguin is one of the Philippines' best-kept secrets: a small, green island formed by volcanoes, with more of them than towns. You can drive around it in an afternoon, but you will want three days for its waterfalls, its hot and cold springs, the sunken cemetery off the coast and White Island, a sandbar with a volcano behind it.

It pairs naturally with Bohol, just across the water, and the ferry between them means no extra flights. Bohol gives you the Chocolate Hills, tarsiers and calm Panglao beaches. You fly home from Cagayan de Oro on Mindanao, a short ferry and drive from Camiguin. This is the Philippines as Filipinos holiday: easy, friendly and unhurried.

Questions travellers ask

1. Is Camiguin safe?

Yes. Camiguin is a small, quiet island province, popular with Filipino families. We follow official travel advice and plan only what we would do ourselves.

2. How often is the ferry?

The Bohol–Camiguin ferry runs a few times a week, so we build your dates around it.
